Trojans victorious
In the last key game of the 2012 korfball Europa Cup, England's Trojans have an extremely tight win against the German champion and last squad to get a pass for the first round, Adler Rauxel. With a score exiting until the last minute, Trojans win 20-22 with Adler Rauxel showing a good level.
With a fourth place of England just over two months ago at the World Championships in China and a nineth of Germany, a bigger difference was expected. But Adler has a firm grip on the game in the beginning and takes a 5-1 lead before Trojans start to find the korf, with Sam Brooks leading. Trojans secure a two goal advantage at half time, 9-11. The game stays tight also the second half, but Trojans show good mentality by staying in the lead, even when only with one goal, the whole second half. As real Germans, Adler Rauxel keeps pushing until the last minute. Top scorers on both sides score seven goals, Henning for Adler Rauxel and Sam Brooks for Trojans.
This puts Trojans also in the cross finals for the top four spots. They will face Dutch TOP, where Benfica squares off against Boeckenberg. Adler Rauxel will try to claim a chance for fifth place against Vallparadis.
