The first two games of the second day of games at the 2012 Europa Cup show one tight game and one clear victory, showing that Europe needs more capable national champions to justify a twelve squad tournament over e.g. ten.

The opening game started looking as a surprise, with the young Turkish squad getting a 0-3 opening lead against the Slovaks. Already during the first half Prievidza turned the advantage back to their side, but were forced to a 9-9 draw af half time. The second half Prievidza takes the lead again and keep it for the rest of the game. The tight result of 18-14 shows that the Turks are making progress and will probably overtake Slovakia in the next few years.

Polish hosts Warszawa Mega Sports get their moment to show off against the weak link Bonson from France. Half time is already 13-2 in favour of Warszawa and second half Bonson does a little better, final score 26-8. It is time for other promising countries to claim the spot now taken by Bonson with their national champion.

These two results decide the games for the bottom four places: Warszawa Mega Sports and Prievidza Dolphins will play for places nine and ten, while Ankara University will get to show how much better they are than Bonson and claiming eleventh place in the process.
