The cross final games to decide who will play for fifth or sixth place and who for seventh or eigth in the 2012 korfball Europa Cup were two different games. The game between Czech champion Kolin and a squad basically being the Russian national squad ends in a clear victory for Kolin, just two months after Russia beats Czech Republic in the World Championships. Adler Rauxel on the other hand has a strong finish against Catalan squad CK Vallparadis, seeing the Catalans taking a well deserved win.

Bottom four as expected |

On the second last day of the Europa Cup korfball 2012 in Warszawa, the first two games of the day decide the bottom of the ranking. The results are as expected, with the athletes of Ankara converting their improvement of the last few month into victory over Bonson and host Warszawa beating Prievidza, but not without a struggle.

In the last key game of the 2012 korfball Europa Cup, England's Trojans have an extremely tight win against the German champion and last squad to get a pass for the first round, Adler Rauxel. With a score exiting until the last minute, Trojans win 20-22 with Adler Rauxel showing a good level.

In a game similar to the recent clashes with the national squads, the game between Czech champion Kolin and Portuguese champion NC Benfica is also one of few goals and an Iberian winner; 16-19 for Benfica, who is up against Boeckenberg for the top four spots, and Kolin will have to deal with Russia's HSS State University.

The first two key games for the top four places in the 2012 Europa Cup korfball show the flaw of the new system: the champions of Catalunya and Russia have to face those of The Netherlands and Belgium and, as expected, don't stand a chance, condemning them to a maximum of fifth place in the final ranking.
